Binds cholesterol in cholesterol-containing plasma membrane microdomains and may play a role in the organization of the apical plasma membrane in epithelial cells. In neuroblastoma cells suppresses cell differentiation such as neurite outgrowth in a RET-dependent manner. CD133 ELISA kit is a sandwich ELISA assay for the quantitative measurement of human CD133 in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants. The density of color is proportional to the amount of CD133 captured from the samples.
