CD80/B7-1-Alexa Fluor® 647
Code No: M173-A64
Background:
CD80 is a 60 kDa, single chain, type I glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is also known as B7-1, B7, and BB1. CD80 is expressed by activated B and T cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells. CD80 binds to two T cell surface antigens: CD28 and CD152 (CTLA-4). The interaction of CD80 with CD28 provides a costimulatory signal for the activation of T cells that recognize a particular peptide antigen loaded on the MHC molecule. CTLA-4 binds to CD80 with approximately 20 times more affinity than CD28 and provides an inhibitory signal to activated T cells.
