| Background: | Insulin-dependent phosphorylation occurs at multiple sites near the carboxyl terminus and in the kinase domain. The receptor tyrosine kinase has been implicated as the mediator of the effects of insulin. Insulin receptor tyrosine kinase catalyses the phosphorylation of one or more cell proteins. Yeh et al. reported that 58/53-kDa proteins (also calls Insulin Receptor Substrate p53; IRSp53) obtained from Chinese hamster ovary cells could be tyrosine phosphorylated in insulin-treated cells, and can also be tyrosine phosphorylated in vitro by the isolated human insulin receptor. Human-originated immunogen of this antibody, which is selected by using a domain of Fas Ligand cell, is homologous to the hamster-originated 58/53-kDa proteins reported by Yeh et al. |
