Target:

Topoisomerase IIAlpha

Background:

Topoisomerase II (Topo II) is a nuclear enzyme that regulates the topological states of DNA by transient breakage and rejoining double-stranded DNA, catalyzing the decatenation and unknotting of topologically linked DNA circles and the relaxation of supercoiled DNA. In mammalian cells, Topo II consists of two isozymes, Topo II (170KD) and Topo II (180KD). Expression and localization of each isoform are distinct and stage specific during the cell cycle. Topo II is expressed constantly throughout cell cycle, whereas the expression of Topo II is cell cycle-regulated, peaking in G2 to M phase and declining to a minimal level at the end of M phase. It is considered that Topo II plays an essential role in cell proliferation, especially during late S to M phase.

Formulation:
10 g IgG in 50 L volume of PBS containing 1% BSA, 10% glycerol and 0.1% sodium azide as preservative. Sodium azide has been reported to form potentially explosive lead or copper azide in plumbing. To prevent forming of these compounds, flush drains enough after disposing of solutions containing sodium azide.
Reactivity:
This antibody reacts with human Topo II on Western blot, immunoprecIPPitation, flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry. The antibody detects 170 KD of human Topo II on Western blot with total cell lysate from human cell line, for example, Jurkat, Raji, HEp-2 etc.
Intended Use:
For Research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedure.
