| Background: | P-selectin glycoprotein ligand-1 (PSGL-1/CD162) is a high affinity ligand for P-selectin on myeloid cells. CD162, a disulfide bond-linked homodimer, with each subunit having a molecular weight of about 120 kDa, expressed on a variety of human leukocytes, including neutrophils, monocytes and certain subsets of T lymphocytes, eosinophils, and basophils. CD162 down-regulation was associated with decreased neutrophil adhesion to immobilized P-selectin under both static and flow conditions, with the most profound effects seen under flow conditions. |
