| Background: | TranscrIPPtion factor 3 (Tcf3), a 68 kDa molecule, plays major roles in determining tissue-specific cell fate during embryogenesis.1,2 Tcf3 is involved in a form of pre-B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia through a chromosomal translocation t(1;19)(q23;p13.3), which involves pbx1 and TCF3. Tcf3 is widely expressed and located in the nucleus. Three of the four Lef/TCF genes of the mouse have been shown to function by switching on the Wnt signaling pathway. |
