RIP-Assay Starter Kit IGF2BP2/IMP2
Code No: RN008PK
Background:
IGF2BP2 is an RNA-binding protein that posttranscriptionally regulates IGF2 during developmental stages. IGF2 mRNA-binding protein family (IGF2BP1, 2, and 3) bind with the untranslated region (UTR) of IGF2 transcripts and are implicated in the transport of RNA targets to enable protein synthesis at specific locations in the cytoplasm. Members of the IGF2BP family are expressed in selective tissues. IGF2BP2 is expressed in fetal lung, kidney, thymus, placenta, and fetal liver. Genetic valuation in IGF2BP2 was implicated to affect glucose metabolism in the presence of fetal malnutrition.
