SLC1A6/EAAT4

Code No: BMP058
Datasheet:
Target:

SLC1A6/EAAT4

Background:

Glutamate transporters are essential for terminating excitatory neurotransmission in the synapses of the brain. SLC1A6, also known as EAAT4, is a member of the high-affinity glutamate and neutral amino acid-transporter family. It transports L-glutamate and also L- and D-aspartate predominantly in the cerebellar cortex. Genetic polymorphism in the SLC1A6 gene is suggested to be involved in glutamatergic dysfunction in schizophrenia pathogenesis.

Formulation:
50 uL volume of PBS containing 50% glycerol, pH 7.2. No preservative is contained.
Reactivity:
This antibody can be used to stain endogenous antigen in paraffin embedded human tissues including the cerebellum by Immunohistochemistry. The reactivity has been confirmed by Western blotting, Immunocytochemistry and intracellular Flow cytometry to detect the full length of human SLC1A6 transiently expressed in HEK 293T cells.
Intended Use:
For Research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedure.
