SLC11A1 polyclonal antibody
Code No: BMP032
Background:
SLC11A1 (solute carrier family 11 member 1), formerly known as natural resistance associated macrophage protein 1 (NRAMP1), encodes a multi-pass membrane protein. This protein functions as a divalent transition metal (iron and manganese) transporter and is involved in iron metabolism and host resistance to certain pathogens. SLC11A1 is expressed on neutrophil granules and phagosomal membranes during phagocytosis. Mutations in the SLC11A1 gene have been related to susceptibility to infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and leprosy, as well as inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn disease.
