SLC1A7 Polyclonal Antibody
Code No: BMP024
Background:
SLC1 family is classified as glutamate transporters, also referred to as excitatory amino acid transporters (EAATs), which regulate glutamatergic signal transmission by clearing excess glutamate after synaptic release in the mammalian central nervous system. Dysfunction of EAATs results in glutamate accumulation in the synaptic cleft, which can be cytotoxic to neurons, and may cause neurological disorders. SLC1A7/EAAT5 is a unique glutamate transporter highly expressed in mammalian retina, but association with visual defects has not been reported yet.

50 uL volume of PBS containing 50% glycerol, pH 7.2. No preservative is contained.
Reactivity:
This antibody can be used to stain endogenous antigen in paraffin embedded human tissues including cerebellum and liver by immunohistochemistry. The reactivity of this antibody has been confirmed by Western blotting, Immunocytochemistry and intracellular Flow cytometry to detect the full-length of human SLC1A7 transiently expressed in HEK 293T cells.
