Background: 

High-affinity glutamate transporters play an essential role in transporting glutamate across plasma membranes. SLC1A1/EAAT3/EAAC1, a member of this transporter family, is expressed throughout the body, particularly in brain, intestine, liver, heart and kidney. Functional defects of the SLC1A1 gene are found in a patient of dicarboxylicamino aciduria.

Reactivity: 
This antibody can be used to stain endogenous antigen in paraffin embedded human tissues including liver, cerebellum and skeletal muscle by immunohistochemistry. The reactivity of this antibody has been confirmed by Western blotting to detect the full-length of human SLC1A1 transiently expressed in HEK 293T cells.
