SLC2A4/GLUT4 Polyclonal Antibody
Code No: BMP008
Background:
Glucose transporters (GLUT) are integral membrane glycoproteins involved in transporting glucose into most cells. SLC2A4/GLUT4 is exclusively presented at an intracellular storage in muscle cells and adipocytes, and is immediately translocated to the cell surface in response to insulin. A defect of the SLC2A4 traffic is involved in insulin resistant for Type II diabetes or experimental diabetes in animals, and some mutations in the gene of SLC2A4 are observed in noninsulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM).
