| Background: | MBD1 belongs to the family of MBD (methyl-CpG binding domain)-containing proteins and binds to methylated CpG DNA through its N-terminus MBD. MethylHunter MBD1-based Methylated DNA Enrichment Kit can enrich DNA fragments containing methylated CpG DNA by using recombinant His-tagged MBD1. Efficiency to enrich methylated DNA fragments is higher than other methods such as antibody-based enrichment methods or other MBD protein- based methods. Enrichment bias is lower than one that might be observed in other MBD protein- based methods. Enriched methylated DNA fragments can be readily used for following Microarray, Real-time PCR, and Next Generation Sequencer analysis. |
